Synopsis:

Dr. Arthur Landan, professor of art history and forensic expert, is tipped off by an FBI witness to the whereabouts of a stolen Picasso. Terry Spears, the art dealer in possession of the painting is an informant working with the feds to build a case against Nick the Greek, the mob boss, who owned the painting. When Dr. Landan and his team attempt to recover the Picasso, Dr. Landan finds Terry overdosing with a needle in his arm and someone hiding there who flees. Dr. Landan pursues and loses them as an ambulance and the police arrive. The EMTs are unable to save Terry, the police recover the Picasso and Dr. Landan is taken in for questioning.

When Dr. Landan discovers the painting is a forgery, he tracks the original to the South of France, to the last villa owned by Pablo Picasso, The Villa of his Dreams. Attempting to recover the original, Dr. Landan discovers he has been played. He is a pawn, entangled in the French underworld of forgery and fraud on a scale he never imagined. The only way Dr. Landan can survive and recover the painting is to discover the true mastermind and beat him at his own game.
