Makoa Keoni, the director of Startup Hawaii took the microphone. He was a large Polynesian man, nearly seven feet tall. He had strong and handsome features, like a bronze warrior in Tommy Bahama. Makoa said with a gentle yet resonating voice, “Please welcome and join in with Auntie Kiana as she sings our anthem, Hawaii Ponoi.”
